Orkun Compiler and Programming Language Project

Built from the monosyllabic roots of Proto-Turkic β€” a language spoken before the Neolithic era β€” and written in the ancient Orkun script. Asking a question no programming language has ever asked.

Vision: What if every keyword were a single syllable, and instead of Latin letters each were written as a single Orkun tamga β€” one syllable, one character? This question has never been asked. Orkun asks it.

Founding Principles

  1. Originator: This project is the idea of software developer Mete Esperart.
  2. Monosyllabic Proto-Turkic + Orkun Script: All keywords are drawn from the monosyllabic roots of Proto-Turkic, a language predating the Neolithic era. Each word is written as a single Orkun tamga β€” one syllable, one character.
  3. Efficiency and Stability: Character density surpassing even APL and K/Q β€” yet unlike APL's arbitrary symbols, these tokens carry meaning. They are felt, not memorized. Proto-Turkic has remained unchanged for millennia; that stability is embedded in the language itself.
  4. General-Purpose: Orkun is a general-purpose programming language, not a domain-specific one.
Note: The principles above define the founding purpose of the Orkun Programming Language and are not open to suggestion or modification.
